DESCRIPTION:
It is an innovative herbal medicine with novel composition. It has expectorant, antitussive, and anti-inflammatory properties. It is available in syrup form. Ivy leaf and Coptis Rhizome Extract are main active ingredients and exhibit bronchodilator, expectorant and anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties, making it an effective treatment for respiratory diseases.
Mechanism of Action:
Ivy Leaf Extract
Bronchodilation: Inhibits the internalization, increases the β2 adrenergic effect, activates cAMP secondary messenger, and relaxes bronchial muscle, leading to broncho-dilation.
Expectoration Effect: Increases surfactant secretion, promoting expectoration.
Anti-Inflammatory: Blocks inflammatory mediators like bradykinin, exerting anti-inflammatory effects.
Coptis Rhizome:
PDE4 Activation: Inhibits 5-LO, Tachykinin Nk1, and NK2, further inhibiting PDE4. This reactivates the cAMP, resulting in broncho-dilation and anti-inflammatory effects.
Suppress Mucus Production: Inhibits lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as interleukin-6, and LPS-mediated nuclear factor (NF)-kB activation, reducing mucin production in airway diseases.
Anti microbial: Some studies have shown that it also exhibits antimicrobial activities.
INDICATIONS:
Iryrid is used to provide relief of cough and sputum due to:
Acute respiratory infection
Chronic inflammatory bronchitis
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
Children: 2-6 years 2.5-5 ml three times a day.
Children: 7-14 years 5 ml three times a day.
Adults: Over 15 years 5-10 ml three times a day.
or as prescribed by the Physician.
A measuring cup is provided for accurate measurement of dosage.
